BEL Share Price Falls 6% After Missing Order Inflow Target, But Revenue Growth Beats Estimates

Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL), a Nifty 50 constituent and state-run defense company, saw its stock drop over 6% on April 2, 2025, after missing its order inflow guidance for FY25. However, the company reported higher-than-expected revenue growth for the year. Despite the dip, leading brokerages remain positive on BEL’s long-term prospects, citing strong fundamentals and future defense contracts. In an exchange filing on Tuesday, April 1, BEL said that it has received orders worth ₹18,715 crore during financial year 2025, which is lower than the company's projections of ₹25,000 crore.

BEL also reported an overall turnover of ₹23,000 crore (provisional), which is 16% higher than the turnover reported in financial year 2024, which stood at ₹19,820 crore. The company had projected a 15% revenue growth for the current financial year.

The sales figures for the year, include export sales of close to $106 million, which is a 14% growth, compared to $92.98 million worth of exports in financial year 2026.

     BEL Secures Major Defense Orders, Total Order Book Reaches ₹71,650 Crore

Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) has secured key defense contracts, including the BMP II Upgrade, Ashwini Radar, Software Defined Radios, and Multi-Function Radars, along with significant non-defense projects. As of April 1, 2025, BEL's total order book stands at ₹71,650 crore, with an export order value of $359 million.

BEL aims to expand its global footprint, strengthening its leadership in strategic electronics. Despite missing order inflow guidance, most analysts remain bullish on the stock, with 25 out of 28 giving a "buy" rating. While Macquarie maintains an "outperform" rating with a ₹350 target, Kotak Institutional Equities holds a "sell" call at ₹260.
